5-14-2014, Day One

Today was my first day of senior project. I’m working for Jumpstart, a company outside of downtown Cleveland that assists entrepreneurs and startups with their growth. I’m excited to work here because I hope the atmosphere will be similar to the entrepreneurship course I participated in this past semester. I arrived to Jumpstart around 8am. I was embarrassed to be told by the receptionist that I was extremely early and the people I was working for wouldn’t be here for a while. I sat around and waited and after about an hour they showed up. They were friendly and said I didn’t have to come in that early every day, which was a relief to hear. The three employees I’m working with are Hrishue, Kate and Erin. They informed me I was going to start off the project by working with Erin on a project dealing with Connecticut. The city of Hartford has one million dollars to invest into entrepreneurial related activity and they want to know how to use this to make the most economic growth and overall best outcome. She assigned me to start finding all the resources Hartford has for entrepreneurs, so I dove right into doing the research.
