Friday was a very productive day, being that that Brandon and I have finally compiled all of our footage and we are ready to edit! However, editing is an all-day task, so we decided to watch a couple documentaries that we may mention in our own. The first documentary we watched is Dear Zachary, which was easily the most moving FILM I have every watched; not just as a documentary. I really don’t want to spoil anything in the movie and the only advice I can give for those who are easily moved, bring a box of tissues. You’ll need them. After watching that film, Brandon and I watched The Poughkeepsie Tapes which is a documentary about the world’s most dangerous serial killer. Once again, a film that is extremely hard to watch and will definitely disturb the audience. The scary part of this film is that it is a mix of a documentary and a horror film. So it educates the audience, while scaring them at the very same time.
Brandon and I have a lot of editing to do, and editing will easily be the most time consuming part of making this documentary. Having about 45 minutes to an hour worth of footage will definitely be a challenge to shorten it down to about 15-20 minutes. However, it will all be worth it in the end!
It really sounds like you guys have done a lot of work and learned a lot. On top of that, it sounds like you guys are finding that a lot of this work is really rewarding and enjoyable for you. I know that the point of senior projects is to find something you would enjoy learning about, but there's still something to say about the fact that you guys actually are enjoying what you are doing. Can't wait to see the final product (or movie, I guess). Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI usually hate editing things so I couldn't imagine doing this. I would be too attached to all my footage so I respect you guys for being able to do this. Keep up the good work!
